Fly-In Safari Tours
Fly-in safaris offer a quick and convenient way to reach the Masai Mara, with flights from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport taking approximately one hour. Upon arrival at a Mara airstrip, guests are welcomed and transferred to their camp or lodge, often in time for lunch or an afternoon game drive. Safari activities are usually conducted in shared 4×4 vehicles provided by the accommodation. This option is ideal for travellers with limited time, guests staying at remote camps and those seeking a more comfortable journey.
Road Safari Tours
Road safaris are the most popular and affordable way to travel from Nairobi to the Masai Mara. The journey generally takes five to six hours, depending on traffic, road conditions and the location of your camp or lodge. Guests can travel in a 4×4 safari Land Cruiser or a lower-cost safari van. Although the journey is longer and some sections may be uneven, a road safari allows you to enjoy Kenya’s changing landscapes, towns and countryside along the way.
